Don’t hesitate to spread the word and contribute to the initiative! About the authors Head over to get started with the collection. We hope that you’re as excited as we are with these new features: the API Network publication, the new APIs and Public Workspaces. This is also great news for you even if you do not contribute to the collection because you’ll be able to pull changes from the collection (bug fixes, new APIs…) without having to re-import anything. With Public Workspaces, you’ll find the same contribution flow that you’re already familiar with in git: forks, pull requests and pulls. This new feature greatly simplifies the contribution process by allowing us to perform all operations seamlessly within Postman. Fortunately for us, Postman just released Public Workspaces. This was a manual and error-prone process. Up until very recently, we were relying on a GitHub repository and a conversion script to integrate contributions. The ability to receive community contributions is a guiding principle for the Salesforce APIs collection. We’re adding new API requests to the collection over time, but you’re welcome to help. You can now create Chatter posts, manage groups, configure quotes, manage contracts and much more!Ĭontribute and keep the collection up to date with Public Workspaces We’ve also extended the collection with about 45 new request templates for two new APIs: Chatter (through the Connect REST API) and Salesforce CPQ. All you have to do is launch Postman, and with just a couple clicks (as shown in the image below), you’ll be able to import the collection.Ĭheck out our updated documentation for detailed instructions on how to install the collection, configure it and enjoy! Support for Additional APIs: Chatter and Salesforce CPQ ![]() Having the collection on the API Network means that it’s now extremely simple to install it. The API Network is Postman’s marketplace for APIs. We’re excited to share that we’ve published the Salesforce APIs on the Postman API Network. Salesforce APIs are now available on the Postman API Network Postman can be used from a desktop app or from a web browser. It supports environment variables, team workspaces and JavaScript automation among other useful features. It’s a very convenient and powerful tool that leverages point and click configuration. Postman is an application that lets you configure and call HTTP-based APIs like REST or SOAP. Think of it as a clone of Workbench’s legacy REST explorer with more features. You can even run it from your browser if you don’t want to install the Postman desktop app. This open source collection comes with a configurable environment and variables that let you easily authenticate and try the requests on multiple Salesforce orgs with a declarative interface. In case you missed the original announcement, the Salesforce API collection is a Postman resource that wraps together 200+ request templates for tens of Salesforce APIs (REST, bulk, tooling, metadata…). We’ll cover news related to the Postman API Network, support for additional APIs and contributions with Postman Public Workspaces. The project has evolved significantly since then, and we’d like to share a couple of major enhancements in this post. In March we announced the Salesforce API collection for Postman (see this blog post or this video).

Back in the old times (15 years ago) some switches and hubs had an additional dedicated uplink port (regardless of tagging features) where port connection was crossed internally, so that people could use straight cables to connect switches to each other or to routers. What I just wrote is that there's no "dedicated" uplink port these days anymore. Of course I still haven't used one so I stand to be corrected. Just to define it by 'VLAN trunk' I mean a connection carrying traffic with multiple different VLAN tags such that when connected to a pfSense box each of those VLANs can appear as a separate interface. The 'uplink' port referred to in the instructions is specifically for VLANs. Neither of those seem particularly useful in common applications. You could possibly pass VLAN tagged traffic without stripping the tags. You could divide the switch in to separate groups of ports that formed, in effect, separate switches.Ģ. What would be the purpose of a switch that recognised VLAN tags but was unable use a trunk port?ġ. (Edit: These are quite a bit cheaper though) Even those really cheap Netgear switchs that require a Windows utility to control them. I have never seen a switch that had VLAN capability that couldn't do a VLAN 'trunk'. Unless the switch has a single fibre or 10Gig port for that purpose, these dont. There is no need for an uplink port such as you describe on a Gigabit switch since all ports are auto-MDX. I could think based on this, that it should work with pfSense too… What I'd like to do is connect two of these with a trunk cable and share VLANs between them, apparently that's possible with the "Smart" series but not with the "Easy Smart" series (that's why TL-SG2216 and not TL-SG1016DE, although I'm only using copper at the moment).īut what I'd really want to do also is to connect to pfSense via a dot1q trunk port and access VLANs directly from pfSense - do you think it would work?įound a review () where the author says he could do successful dot1q trunking between this and a Netgear GS108T. ![]() At $140 USD price with all the advanced features like dot1q VLAN according to the specs, seems very attractive. NuGet records the package identifier and version number in the reference list whenever you install a package from a host into a project. NuGet, on the other hand, keeps a concise reference list of all the packages that a project relies on, including both top-level and down-level dependencies. Tracking References and Restoring Packages: NuGet sorts out which single version can be used by all users to prevent bringing different versions of the package into the application itself. Many other packages use some of the most useful utility packages on. ![]() It’s very common for a project to rely on one or more packages that have the same dependencies as the project itself. NuGet manages the overall dependency graph within a single project, which involves resolving multiple references to various versions of the same package. NuGet takes care of all down-level dependencies if any of those packages consume other packages (which can, in turn, consume even others). As a result, a large part of NuGet’s job is to manage a project’s dependency tree or “graph.” Simply put, you just need to worry about the packages you’re directly using in a project. One of the most powerful advantages of a package management system is the ability to quickly build on the work of others. Of course, maintaining a multi-targeting package is more challenging for its developer. This reduces the size of the package in the project’s final application and/or assemblies. NuGet extracts only the assemblies required by the project when a consumer installs such a package. Package developers who need APIs that aren’t part of the.NET Standard framework, on the other hand, build separate assemblies for each target framework they want to support and bundle them all together in one package (which is called “multi-targeting”). In summary, a NuGet package is a shareable unit of code that does not involve or imply any specific sharing mechanism. You can also use NuGet packages to factor your own code so that it can only be used in your own projects. ![]() You can use NuGet packages to distribute code that is unique to a company or a workgroup since NuGet supports private hosts in addition to the public host. The options should provide orientation, enabling us to find our own preferences or – when we dissent – to design alternatives.Īlong the way, we hope to underscore that our lives are more meaningful – and certainly more capable of meaning – than we might initially have supposed. Most are well-known the point isn’t to identify entirely new sources of meaning so much as to try to evoke and explain some familiar choices. It is anchored around a discussion of eight centrally meaningful activities: love, family, work, friendship, culture, politics, nature and philosophy. This book considers a range of options for where meaning might lie for us. We can be relatively far into our lives before we securely identify what lends them their meaning. Whereas pleasure manifests itself immediately, our taste in meaning may be more elusive. – We have to work out, by a process of experience and introspection, what counts as meaningful in our eyes. What we call ‘crises of meaning’ are generally moments when someone else’s – perhaps very well intentioned – interpretation of what might be meaningful to us runs up against a growing realisation of our divergent tastes and interests. Others cannot be relied upon to determine what will be meaningful to us. – The question of what makes life meaningful has to be answered personally (even if our conclusions are marked by no particular idiosyncrasy). They are those we most highly value and will, from the perspective of our deaths, regret most deeply. – Meaningful activities aren’t necessarily those we do most often. Meaningful activities leave something behind, even when the emotions that once propelled us into them have passed. Projects, relationships, interests and commitments will build up cumulatively. – A meaningful life is bound up with the long-term. We may be leading a meaningful life and yet, really rather often, be in a bad mood (just as we may be having frequent surface fun while living, for the most part, meaninglessly). – A meaningful life aims not so much at day-to-day contentment as fulfilment. – A meaningful life draws upon, and exercises, a range of our higher capacities, for example, those bound up with tenderness, care, connection, self-understanding, sympathy, intelligence and creativity. This is a guidebook to it.Ī meaningful life is close to, but at points importantly different from, a happy life. A meaningful life can be simple in structure, personal, usable, attractive and familiar. There need be nothing forbidding about the issue. Yet, in truth, the subject is for everyone it is for all of us to wonder about, and define, a meaningful existence. Without always acknowledging it, we are – in the background – operating with a remarkably ungenerous perspective on the meaning of life. It wouldn’t be anything that could orient or illuminate our activities. If ever we did discover the meaning, it would – we suspect – in any case be incomprehensible, perhaps written in Latin or in computer code. Meaningful lives are for extraordinary people: great saints, artists, scholars, scientists, doctors, activists, explorers, national leaders…. A select few might be equipped to take on the task and discover the answer in their own lives, but such ambition isn’t for most of us. It isn’t anything an ordinary mortal should be doing – or would get very far by doing. To wonder too openly, or intensely, about the meaning of life sounds like a peculiar, ill-fated and unintentionally comedic pastime. ![]() That says a lot about Beta’s commitment to motocross and is also an indication of how pleased Van Horebeek was after testing the bike.
